1990's blues based hard
rock band that released their first album in 1990, just before the grunge explosion
that destroyed rock music in the 90's. Beggars and Thieves recorded a follow-up
album a year or two later, but because of the record company, it was shelved
til 1997, and later released as "Look What you Create." They released "Grey
Album" in 1999 as well. Bassist Phil Soussan also played with Ozzy
Osbourne and Dio. Drummer Bobby Borg
was also played on Warrant's "Belly to Belly Vol. 1." Louie Merlino was
in a band with Dana Strum (Slaughter)
in the mid 80's.

Yet another good, melodic
blues based hard rock CD that got lost and overlooked in the hair band shuffle
of the early 90's. Melodic song writing Reminds me slightly of Badlands had they written more anthemic songs with sing-a-long choruses. Also compares
to 21 Guns a bit, especially in the
vocals. "Isn't It Easy," "Heaven & Hell," and the mellowdramatic, and somewhat
melancholy "Beggars and Thieves" could easily have been radio hits, had this
band had a better push. "Beggars and Thieves" is actually my favorite song on
the disc as it has a certain flair and emotion that is captivating. Beggars
and Thieves is certainly not a metal release, but for those rare moments of
mellowness, a good listen from start to finish.
