Coven's sophomore effort is 100% thrash metal with all the mosh beats, guitar crunch and hyper guitar solos that anyone would expect. Even the vocals are over-the-top sometimes. While there is nothing overtly distinctive about this band, they do have a good sound that thrash fans should enjoy. Lyrically the band spends a lot of time criticizing Christianity, and in particular the corruption in the church. This wasn't too uncommon in the late 80's and early 90's for thrash and speed metal bands. (see lyrics below) The band also criticizes America, takes a look into serial killer Ted Bundy and even sings a song from the perspective of someone who is suicidal. This CD is long out of print and seems to sell for a premium on auction sites. I saw a copy on eBay with a price tag of $127.95. Ouch! (Some eBay bidders have more money than brains. No CD is worth that much.)
