Elegy-Lost (T&T) 1995 1. "Lost" (4:41) An awesome mix of commercial and melodic melodies mixed with some very technical progressive song structures. Everything from the souring, clean vocals of Eduard Hovinga to the precise rhythm playing of the two guitarists is in place. Imagine a mix of Pretty Maids and Stratovarius. Elegy-Forbidden Fruit (T&T) 2000 1. "Icehouse"
(5:12) Yet another astounding prog-metal band that I found out about on the Perpetual Motion Board many years ago. There are just so many good prog-bands out right now, it's almost impossible to keep up. In any case, Elegy are up to the standards set by such bands as Stratovarious. In other words, they have melodic, yet complicated song structures, heavy guitar tones, shred guitar solos, and intricate drum work. Yet another band whose back catalogue shall now be added to my wants list. |
