After the disappointing sales of "Music From the Elder", Polgram Records, demanded new material from Kiss. Because of the time factor, only four new songs were recorded and this 'best of' collection was released. The new songs were suppose to prove to the world that Kiss had returned to their heavy metal roots.

"Killers" was released in Europe and Japan, but was never officially released in the U.S.
