Nuclear Reign was formed Dublin, Ireland in February of 2006 by Lorcan Murrary (Vocals and Rhythm/Lead guitar) and Josh Howe (Lead/Rhythm guitar) .

Wow! If I didn't know any better, I would have swore this demo was recorded in 1987 in California, U.S.A, not 2007 in Ireland. This is old school thrash to the bone. Nuclear Reign proudly sporting their denim and leather and playing 100% old school thrash metal. All five songs included on this CD demo are high quality. The recording is raw, but not so raw as to sound unprofessional. I'd actually say that Nuclear Reign are better than some of the retro-thrash bands releasing albums on labels like Metal Blade at the moment. "Mutually Assured Destruction" has everything a thrasher could want, razor sharp riffs, speed, aggression, barked out, politically fueled lyrics and a genuine mosh ethic. If I had anything to say negative about this demo at all it's that Nuclear Reign still need to find their sound. "Mutually Assured Destruction" sounds like any number of thrash bands. Adding a bit more of their own sound and personality would really push these guys above and beyond. Fortunately I think this will come in time as Nuclear Reign begin to gel as a band and not wear their influences so obviously on their sleeves. Here's hoping somebody signs these guys and allows them to record a proper debut.
