SPEED n' SPIKES Speed n' Spikes Vol. 1 (Relapse Records) 2008 SIDE ONE (Toxik Holocaust) Limited edition 7" red vinyl release as part of the Speed 'n Spikes split EP series. Nothing more than a collector's item for the thrash metal enthusiast. The sticker seen on the scan above is on the outside on the plastic sleeve that accompanied the record. Had to pick up Vol. 1 in a trade as I missed the pre-order for this one and the edition sold out rather quickly. This one rarely even pops up on Ebay. Initially sold for $5 plus shipping on Relapse Records web site. My copy is one of the red pressings. Pressing info: 100 clear, 400 Yellow w/ Red Splatter, 500 Red. Speed 'n Spikes Vol. II (Relapse Records) 2008 SIDE ONE (Rumplestiltskin
Grinder) Volume II of the "Speed n Spikes" thrash metal series of 7" colored vinyl. Unlike Vol. 1, I was able to pre-order this one, but still ended up with the red vinyl. I'm hoping to score a copy of one of the yellow/red spatter copies eventually. The stickers seen on the scan above are on the outside on the plastic sleeve that accompanied the record. Pressing info: 100 clear, 400 Yellow w/ Red Splatter, 500 Red. Speed 'n Spikes Vol. III (Relapse Records) 2008 SIDE ONE (Abigail) Volume II of the "Speed n Spikes" thrash metal series of 7" colored vinyl. Snagged the yellow vinyl with the red splatters this time around. A clear vinyl version showed up on Ebay at the same time I ordered this copy from Relapse and sold for $44.01 plus $5 shipping. I paid $5 plus $3 shipping for my copy and it has far cooler colors, although it's not quite as rare I suppose. Frankly, who cares. Gory art this time around. Sort of looks like a Canibal Corpse cover. The stickers seen on the scan above are on the outside on the plastic sleeve that accompanied the record. Pressing info: 100 clear, 400 Yellow w/ Red Splatter, 500 Red. Speed 'n Spikes Vol. IV (Relapse Records) 2008 SIDE ONE (Early Man) Volume VI of the "Speed n Spikes" thrash metal series of 7" colored vinyl. Picked up the orange vinyl with the green splatters this time around. The sticker on the outside on the plastic sleeve this time around has a mistake on it. Notice it says "Vol. III". It should obviously say "Vol. IV". As for the music, Rammer sounds like the bastard child of Venom, while Early Man have a more traditional thrash metal sound with clean vocals. Early Man could easily pass for a NWOBHM band. I'll be looking for more from this band. Pressing info: 100 Clear, 400 Orange, 500 Orange w/ Green Splatter.
