Excellent early show with superb sound taken from a WBCN broadcast recorded live from Paul's Mall in Boston. MA. "I Ain't Got You" and "Mother Popcorn" from this show were used for the official "Live Bootleg". Once again, not sure if this one was ever mass produced or if this is only a CDR that is being traded by fans. I use to own this one on vinyl but for the life of me cannot remember the name of that vinyl boot. Hmmm, perhaps one day it will come back to me. Aerosmith – Pandora’s Studio (Lost & Found) Aerosmith - Michigan Palace, Detroit, MI 4/14/74 (cdr bootleg) 1. "Write Me"
(3:52) This is an excellent live soundboard recording. Even the cover artwork is spectacular. I'm not sure if this one was ever mass produced, as my copy is a CDR copy. Purchased it from an eBay seller. Aerosmith - Live Bootleg Vol. 2 (Ironic/005) 1. "Write Me A Letter"
(5:09) Excellent FM mono on this "Get Your Wings" tour concert. This was originally released on vinyl as "My Fathers Place" (Mongoose CD003), but the CD's sound quality is superior to the vinyl "My Fathers Place," which I use to also own. Great show! The sound is a raw not unlike the official "Live Bootleg" tracks from this same time period. Anyhow, Aerosmith just jammed in the 70's. "S.O.S." has a cool, long intro. This particular version features two bonus tracks, both recorded in stereo. This is a silver disc, not a cdr copy. Aerosmith - 1974 (Mistral Records/MM9109) 1. "Walking The Dog/S.O.S. (Too Bad)/Somebody" (8:57) I couldn't find much information about this bootleg. I have no idea where these songs were recorded, the the CD details it as Live in St. Louis.. One site I found suggested that the songs were recording as part of the radio broadcast at Central Park, NY, August, 1975. I don't think that is the case. "S.O.S. (Too Bad)" is listed as "Schoolboy". "Sweet Emotion" is horribly sloppy with Tyler messing up the lyrics and Perry doing some horrific background vocals. Tyler trips through the lryics of "Dream On", even adding in a lyric about diarrhea. Now, that's rock and roll! This is one of the few early bootlegs I have that features "No More No More". Aerosmith - Cleveland, OH 8/23/75 (CDR bootleg) 1. "Walking the Dog"
(3:15) Got this disc in a trade with another Aerosmith bootleg collector. Cleveland '75 is an audience recording, but the sound is not untollerable. Probably graded a B- to a C+. The CDR came without a cover so I made the generic cover pictured above. "Train Kept A Rollin'" has a long drum solo in the middle, but still seems to have a portion cut out of it. Also included in that song is a portion of the theme to Batman. Aerosmith - Look Homeward Angel (Fanstasy Disco F7868) SIDE ONE SIDE TWO One of the more widely distributed Aerosmith bootlegs. This album was first pressed on ZAP (ZAP 7868) and then again on Fantasy Disc, which is the copy I own. It has since been transfered to CD and distributed under several different names. The recording is superb and is a stereo recording from a King Biscuit Flour Hour FM Broadcast. "Walk This Way" is listed as "Walkin' The Dog", on both the vinyl releases. I had the original ZAP release back in the day and the artwork was slightly different f rom the Fantasy Disco release. Written at the Bottom of the back of the album cover: "Produced by Luis Martinez, Fantasy Disco, 12 Calle 3-21 zone 1, Guatemala City". Aerosmith - Rock This Way (TAKRL/TKRWM 1812) 1975 Aerosmith - Look Homeward Angel (CDR) 1. "S.O.S. (Too Bad)"
(3:49) One of Aerosmith's most famous and widely distributed vinyl bootlegs. Use to own this one on vinyl and now really regret having sold it, despite the decent amount of money that I got for it. The show is an excellent stereo recording from King Biscuit Flour Hour FM Broadcast. It has an excellent raw, heavy sound with numbers from their newest album at the time "Toys in the Attic." On the original vinyl release 'Walk This Way' is listed as 'Walkin' The Dog'. The original vinyl version was released on both the Zap & Fantasy Disco lables. (The cover above is from the Zap version.) Note that the entire show has been released below as well. My particular copy here is a flawless vinyl transfer. Aerosmith - Central Park, New York, NY 1975 1. "S.O.S (Too Bad)"
(3:46) Another excellent high quality live recording. This one was a radio broadcast from the King Biscuit Flower Hour and sports and very high quality mix. The song selection is awesome, since it is all from the first three albums. Cool purple wings on the high quality printed cover, both inside and out. This one has been released under several different names with several different titles including "Sweet Emotion" (Viva CCD 7520) and "KBFH (King Biscuit Flower Hour)." Also released as "Look Homeward Angel", with a few less cuts. I wonder if the King Biscuit will ever officially release this like they have some of their other broadcasts. Also released on vinyl as "Look Homeward Angel". Aerosmith - Offenbach Rocks (CDR bootleg) 1. "Intro/Mama
King" (4:40) Great concert from one of the best musical years the band had in the 70's. Too bad the sound quality isn't up to snuff. Aerosmith - Golden Rocks (CDR bootleg)
Listed as being June 25, 1977, Houston, Texas but actually recorded a day earlier. Excellent mono recording that is supposedly an audio dub taken from a pro-shot video of this Houston concert that was never officially released. This disc has been mass produced by Shadow Music (AE.77.1, 2) but my copy is a nicely made CDR copy. Great setlist, decent sound, but a sloppy performance. In '77 Aerosmith were so consumed with drugs, alcohol, sex and themselves I'm actually surprised it sounds as good as it does, but compared to their earlier shows and even everything for the 80's on, this is the sloppiest I have ever heard them. Still, it's live Aerosmith and I can't ever get enough of it. "Helter Skelter" is a Beatles cover. Aerosmith - Sumit Theater, Houston, TX 7/25/77 (cdr bootleg)
Exact same show as "Golden Rocks." Great setlist, decent sound, but a sloppy performance. Aerosmith - King's Chronicle (Bondage Music/Japan/BON 110/111/112/113/114/115)
Disc 1: The sound quality on this vintage show is excellent (A+), almost flawless recording. This particular show has also been released as "Last Gas in Chicago" only with an inferior sound quality to this disc. Cool version and rare version of "Get It Up." I think this may have been a WBCN broadcast. Disc 2: Good to decent sound quality (B) from a stereo WBCN broadcast. "Kings And Queens" on this disc is the same version that appears on "Pandora's Box" (disc 3). Great to hear classics like "Get the Lead Out" and "Seasons of Wither" which have never made it onto any official live Aerosmith cd. There is a big flaw in this disc as songs 4 through 9 have an annoying tape squeel. Too bad, because this is an excellent show. Disc 3: Very good stereo broadcast from Aerosmith's hometown, Boston. This concert was their 10th Anniversary show, and featured Jimmy Crespo on guitar along with Brad Whitford. I searched FOREVER to replace this show that I use to own on tape. This show alone is worth the price of this excellent boot. When this set arrived in my mailbox his was the first disc I shoved into my cd player. I always thought that Jimmy Crespo was a great guitar player, and filled Joe Perry's shoes perfectly. On this show he proves me right. Includes a rare live version of "Think About It" which is one of my favorite songs from the underrated "Night in the Ruts." Disc 4: Another very good stereo WBCN broadcast for this famous 1994 Valentine's Day show, one of the last with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay on guitar. According to most Aerosmith biographies, this was the show that Joe Perry and Brad Whitford attended backstage making one of the first steps towards their reunion. "Mama Kin," "Three Mile Smile," "Reefer Head Woman," "Lord Of The Thighs" and "Train Kept A Rollin'" from this show are on all one the official "Classics Live" disc, however rumor has it, and comparisons prove it to be true, the versions on "Classics Live" have been edited and touched up by Jimmy Crespo. The final guitar solo on "Train Kept A Rollin'" is completely missing on "Classics Live." It's also interesting to hear Steven shout "Mr. Dufay!" instead of "Mr. Whitford!" at the beginning of "Lord Of The Thighs." This is completely missing on the Classics Live version as well. This disc also features a rare live version of "No More No More." Disc 5: Very good stereo sound from this show on New Year's Eve during the "Back In The Saddle Tour." "Let The Music Do The Talking" and "Red House" are both huge highlights of this disc for me. I attended this tour in Philadelphia and saw Aerosmith perform excellent renditions of both and I have been searching for a cd copy ever since. Of course "Let The Music Do The Talking," a song from the Joe Perry Project's album of the same name, ended up on "Done With Mirrors" a few months later albeit with new lyrics by Steven. This particular version still has Steven singing the original Perry Project lyrics. The last 5 tracks come from an unplugged acoustic session in Madrid, Spain and features songs that are not included on the end of the "Woodstock '94" disc. These five acoustic tracks were originally released as a Geffen promo cd called "Basico" (GEFD24555). It was released in Spain together with the very first edition of "Big Ones." The tracks were recorded at an acoustic show at 'Cadena 40 Principales' studios in Madrid, Spain on June 9th, 1994. 'Basico' is the Spanish word for 'Basic,' but is also used in Spain as the word for 'Unplugged'. Disc 6: Excellent stereo
sound that sounds like it probably came from a Swedish radio broadcast. As usual
with most of Aerosmith's 90's material, the band is tight and put on a spectacular
show. Smokin' version of "Flesh" and "Sweet Emotion" complete with an opening
bass solo, and excerpts from Led Zeppelin's
"Dazed & Confused" and the Peter Gunn Theme. Excellent version of "Walk This
Way" as well, but unfortunately the Swedish radio announcer ruins the end of
the song by talking over it. Of the six discs this one has the best stereo sound. Aerosmith-California Jam 2 (cdr bootleg) 1. "Rats in the Cellar"
(5:02) Spectacular show from the massive California Jam 2 in '78 which Aerosmith headlined. Other bands were Heart, Ted Nugent, Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush, Santana, Foreigner, Rubicon, and members of Fleetwood Mac. A double record set was released in '78 that included live performances from all the band's. Of the Aerosmith set, "Same Old Song & Dance", "Draw the Line" and "Chip Away at the Stone" were released on that album. I believe that "Chip Away at the Stone" was even released as a single. Unfortunately, this album was never officially released on cd. However, a six disc bootleg of the entire show has been floating around for a few years. Being that the entire show was recorded for broadcast, the sound quality, while not perfect, is certainly better than most bootlegs. Aerosmith's set in particular has a raw sound quality that makes them sound heavier than most of the band's that performed. The set list is pretty standard for '78, although during "Milk Cow Blues" Joe Perry takes over lead vocals for the first verse. It's also interesting to note that Joe begins the song by playing a few bars of Ted Nugent's 'Cat Scratch Fever.' I had read a rumor one time that Joe actually was playing Ted's Fender guitar during this song. In any case, a classic show and a testament to one of the biggest shows in rock n roll history. The cdr set I have contains six cds of most of the artists full sets (except Rubicon) and color printouts of the cover. Aerosmith-Last Gas in Chicago (Working Man) 1. "Rats in the Cellar"
(3:39) Excellent show from a vintage era of Aerosmith. This particular show was a radio broadcast but does not have a high quality sound. (Rated a B at best.) It's not unlistenable but it takes a song or two to get use to the muddy mix. Tyler's vocals standout as does Brad Whitford's guitar, but Joe Perry's guitar is far out of the mix, which unfortunately leaves many of the leads out. Still, it's Tyler's charisma, and the band's overall live energy that carries the show. Surprisingly, the music is tight for a band that was at the height of the excesses of drug and alcohol abuse. There are a few drop outs here and there, which makes me think the original source of this disc was a crappy tape. Two songs, "Same old Song & Dance" and "Train Kept A Rollin'" have been cut, although the bass solo is in tact for the mid-section of "Same Old Song & Dance." I picked up this particular disc at a cd show. The cover is printed with black ink on yellow stock and takes symbols from "Permanent Vacation," an album that came out some ten years after this was recorded. This same show also appears on "Kings Chronicle" (disc one), only with a better recording and without the edits. .. Aerosmith-Get Your Lead Out Mama! (CDR) 1. "Rats In The Cellar"
(3:56) Use to have this bootleg of vinyl but sold it many years ago when vinyl was still worth something. In any case, the CDR copy I now have sounds like it may have been a vinyl transfer. However, the sound quality is still very listenable, although not perfect. The quality is a little rough and raw, originally recorded for a FM Broadcast during Aerosmith's USA Draw The Line tour. "Sight For Sore Eyes" taken from this concert appears on the Live Bootleg release. On the Live Bootleg literature it details the concert date incorrectly as 2/24/78 but the extra liner notes on the 20-bit SBM CDs give the correct date. Aerosmith - Live n' Kickin' (Frontstage Music/CDR) 1. "Rats In The Cellar"
(3:58) Excellent radio broadcast from Philadelphia, PA. I was living in this area during this time, but unfortunately was not old enough yet to go to concerts. However, I do remember listening to this one on the radio and recording it on my box. That tape wore out years ago, although I eventually replaced it with another tape copy. However, it was almost like seeing an old friend again when this disc arrived in the mail. While the sound quality is a bit rough, it gives the music a heaviness that I always enjoyed. Of course this was a classic time for the band so all the material included here is stellar. I am sure that the band was totally wasted as this was their notorious 'toxic twins' era. However, despite a slight live looseness in the music, they sound great. Tyler even manages to remember most of the words. Gotta love that Aerosmith – Baying At The Moon (Smokin') 2013 1 Introduction (:50) It's rare to find a bootleg such as this one Amazon, but that's exactly where I purchased this "fan-club only release". This was not a fan-club release, it's 100% a bootleg and a very good one at that. This recording captures Aerosmith in their prime in 1978 in front of their hometown Boston crowd. Kill set-list featuring such gems as "I Wanna Know Why", "Season of Whither", "Get It Up", "Chip Away At the Stone" and "Get the Lead Out." Aerosmith may have been drug-adled at the time, but they just oozed rock and roll. Raw, greasy, raunchy, heavy, rock 'n' roll! These are all words to describe Aerosmith during this era. They were not yet the polished pop rockers they became in the mid-80's. Sound quality is quite good, being a radio broadcast originally broadcast live by WBCN-FM in Boston. Aerosmith-Texxas Jam 1978 (Grim Reaper/# GR-R-114) 1. "Rats in the Cellar"
(3:50) Seventeen killer soundboard tracks. This one sounds as good as "Live Bootleg" and includes some incredible material including "Milk Cow Blues," which also features guest lead guitarist Ted Nugent. One thing about 'ol Ted is you can definetely pick out his guitar sound and his solo style. Funny, however, Steven Tyler introduces Brad Whitford instead of Ted. Anyhow, this original disc also contains three bonus tracks that were not included on the "official" video release of "Texas Jam." Picked this one up on eBay for $20. Aerosmith - Live in Toronto, Canada 7-2-79 (CDR bootleg)
Yet another vintage show, but one that unfortunately doesn't have stellar sound quality due to the fact that this is an audience recording. Anyone have cover art for this show? Aerosmith - Nightclubbing (CDR bootleg) 1. "Back In The Saddle"
(4:32) Excellent stereo from a KBFH FM radio broadcast with an equally excellent set list from the A Right in The Nuts Tour, as it was called. One of a few recordings with Jimmy Crespo on guitar for the departed Perry along with Brad Whitford. Decent sound quality as well. Not perfect but very listenable. Original released on Oh-Boy Records. My particular copy is a bootleg of the bootleg. Aerosmith-Classics Live Outtakes (cdr bootleg) 1. "Back In The Saddle"
(4:45) Excellent show from the "Done With Mirrors" tour recorded live at the Centrum. The concert was a Westwood One FM broadcast so the sound quality is superb stereo. "Let The Music Do The Talking" from this show is the one on the Classics Live II! album. "She's On Fire," "The Hop," and "My Fist Your Face" were also released on the B-side of the "Darkness" 12 inch single. (U.S. Geffen 20801-0 A) Nice bonus with the addition of three demo songs from the "Rock in a Hard Place" pre-production sessions. These three tracks are all of excellent sound quality and were recorded at Criteria Studios, Miami in Sept '82 with Jimmy Crespo on guitar. My copy of this disc is a cdr with nice laser print cover art, but I believe there are mass produced "silver" copies availabel on Bondage Music (BON 026). Perhaps someday I will find an original.
"Rag Doll" is a superb FM stereo broadcast and includes the complete Westwood One "Superstar Concert Series" from May 1989. This recordings has seen release on several different bootlegs. My CD copy is taken from Radio Air Play disc (3 LP set) which means it includes some vinyl noise here and there, although nothing that is audible. The show was recorded exactly one month into the Permanent Vacation Tour. The broadcast was probably edited as the set seems light by a few numbers and a vinyl source (Aerodynamics) has a recording of "Bone To Bone" from this concert. Great set list that includes a lot a classic 70's tracks, the rarely played "Lightning Strikes" and excellent, extended, jam version of "Rats in the Cellar". My copy is a CDR but original silver pressed CDs do exist, released by Three Cool Cats Records (TCC035/036/1991). The original release was on two discs, but my copy has seamlessly been placed onto a single disc. Aerosmith - BBC Live in London (CDR bootleg) 1. "Rats in the Cellar"
(5:33) Short disc featuring a mix of material from "Pump", "Permanent Vacation" and the band's 70's catalogue. The sound on this boot is excellent being that it was a BBC radio broadcast. Unfortunately the entire show was not included. Aerosmith - Voodoo (Iron Cock/IC 008/009) 1991
Fantastic Westwood One FM stereo broadcast. The sound quality here is excellent for a bootleg. As a matter of fact, I've heard officially released live albums that sound far worse that this bootleg. I saw the band on this tour and they were in fine form and played extremely well, as they do on this recording. Excellent versions of "Same Old Song and Dance", "F.I.N.E.", "Permanent Vacation", "Voodoo", "Rag Doll" and especially "Red House". I have several other bootlegs with this show, or parts of this show on it, but it's cool to finally have a factory pressed version. I also believe this one has superior sound to the "Boston Stranglers" version. Aerosmith - Boston Stranglers (2 cdr bootleg)
The booklet details disc one as Boston, April 1990. It is in fact The Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA, January 19, 1990. Disc 2, says June 1975, but is Shaeffer Music Festival, Central Park NY, August 29, 1975. Disc one is recorded in excellent stero sound. Disc 1 is a complete Philadelphia concert, one month into the USA Pump Tour, taken from West wood One "Superstar Concert Series" broadcast May 1990 on WMMR. Disc 2 is the 10 songs complete version of Central Park 1975 concert taken from King Biscuit Flour Hour FM Broadcast. (This track order is from the January 1991 re-broadcast). It has an excellent raw sound with numbers from "Toys in the Attic" which had just been released in the US. Their new single, Walk This Way had just been released in the USA the day before this show. This disc has been released as a "silver" mass produced disc but unfortunately CDR copies are being sold on eBay. Aerosmith - A Grip of Aerosmith (ReaLive RLCD39) 1. "Same Old Sing
& Dance" (5:41) Killer stereo recorded bootleg compilation of two shows; Philadelphia from the 21st of January 1990 and Brussells from the 31st of October 1993. Most of the material however is recorded at Philly's Spectrum as several times Steven is heard making comments such as "Hello Philly" or "It's hot at the old Spectrum tonight." What is especially nice about this compilation is the way the songs flow without and fades in the audience. It's almost hard to tell it's not the same concert. Nice 8-page color insert as well. Pressed in Germany. Aerosmith - Get A Kick (CDM Records /G - 53 215) 1993 1. Love In An Elevator"
(5:01) I don't have much information of this bootleg other than this is a mass produced (silver disc) German bootleg. The sound quality is excellent and while the track listing is pretty much a hits package, there are some excellent standout points. First of all, included as part of the extended jam version of "Sweet Emotion" the band adds in a bit of the Blues Brothers Theme. The inclusion of Aerosmith's cover of the Jimi Hendrix classic "Red House" was a nice addition. Also, the version of "Dream On" included here is one of the best I have heard. Unfortunately I don't know where or when these tracks were recorded. although I assume most of them were recorded during the bands "Get a Grip Tour". Regardless of the details this disc is a sweet addition to my Aero-collection. Aerosmith - Permanent Live Rockers-Greatest Hits Live (CDR) 1. "Same Old Song
And Dance" (5:59) This one was mass produced and released by Living Legend Records (LLRCD 226) For now I only have a CDR copy of this great bootleg compilation. The sound quality and the material is all excellent and is taken from recordings made between 1980 and 1990. "Voodoo Medicine Man" is mislabeled "Voodoo Hoodoo" on the inserts. Aerosmith - Acoustic (P910083) 1994 1. "Big Ten Inch Record"
(4:03) Excellent Mono recording. Details itself as live acoustic tracks USA 1990-1993. However, tracks 1-6 are actually MTV Unplugged recorded at Ed Sullivan Studios, August 11, 1990, and are the only acoustic tracks on the disc. "Walkin' The Dog" is included in the set, but is not listed on the cover inserts. The cover lists tracks 7 - 15 as "bonus tracks" and were apparently recorded at various venues somewhere between 1975-1993. A couple of these tracks I recognize from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania set, January 21, 1990. " Several other tracks ring with familiarity as well, but I can't recall the show dates without doing some time consuming research. Overall, a nice collector's disc with a well laid out, 4-page color insert. This particular disc was bought at a used cd store in Germany by a friend of mine. (Thanks Olaf.) Aerosmith - The Complete MTV Unplugged Show (cdr bootleg) 1. "Hangman Jury"
(6:18) Man, I've been wanting this cd for years. I've never seen it in any of the stores I know that carry this kind of disc, and I must have bid twenty times for it on eBay. Someone was always willing to pay more than me. One time I even bid up to $60 for a silver cd version. I finally secured this copy from an eBay seller for $15 off of eBay. The disc sounds as good as any silver cd and comes with art for the front and back of the disc, so I am satisfied for know. (Although, knowing me, I'd probably still buy the silver cd version if I came across it.) Anyhow, this spectacular acoustic disc was recorded live for MTV Unplugged at Ed Sullivan Studios, August 11, 1990. Several of these songs are covers. There are the usual Aerosmith covers, that most people assume are Aersmith songs like "Big 10 Inch Record," "Milkcow Blues," abd "Walkin' the Dog." Two rarities make their way on this performance as well with "Love Me Two Times" a Doors cover and "Smokestack Lightning" which I believe is a Yardbirds cover. Aerosmith - Complete Unplugged (cdr bootleg) 1. "Hangman Jury"
(6:32) Essentially the same as the above cd, only with slightly altered track order and times. I think the overall sound quality is better on this disc too. Originally this disc was released as a silver bootleg by Bondage Music, the same company that made the excellent "King's Chronicle." 1."Train Kept A Rollin'"
(3:52) Basically a compilation of songs from two different acoustic sets. Tracks 1-5 were recorded live at 40 Principale Studios, Madrid, Spain, June 9, 1994. Tracks 6-10 were recorded live at MTV Unplugged at Ed Sullivan Studios, August 11, 1990. The bonus tracks are all acoustic mix b-sides taken off of various singles. Sound quality of this disc is good overall, but the last three tracks are a bit louder on the disc than the rest of the tracks. All these songs have been released before on various bootlegs but the first five acoustic version are less common than tracks 6-10. Also must add that despite there being a label listed (Run Of The Mill Records), I doubt that this label actually exists or that this disc has been mass produced. Most likely a CDR that is being sold and traded by fans. Sells on eBay for around $20 - $30. Aerosmith - Live USA Vol. 1 (CDR) 1. "Young Lust"
( First disc of the 3 CD "Live In The U.S.A." series, listed below. Unlike the others, however, this CD has all the songs taken from the same show. Title suggests it was recorded in the US, but was actually recorded at the Monster of Rock Festival in England 1990. Also released as "Train Kept A-Rolling (Plute PLRCD 9026)" Excellent stereo quality as original. "Walk this Way" was also played at this show, but was not included on this single CD. Unforutunately my disc was not recorded disc-at-once, so there is spaces between tracks. Keeping my eye open for a real copy of this one, since I already have Vol. 2 & Vol. 3. Aerosmith-Another Live Bootleg (P 910113) 1. "Love In An Elevator"
(5:47) Despite being sold as live in Boston 1993, this is actually the same show as 'Bruxelles 1993' with a better mastering job and slightly different track listing. "Boogie Man," "Rag Doll" and "Walk This Way" were omitted from the 'Bruxelles 1993' disc below, yet on this disc "Sweet Emotion/Peter Gunn Theme" and "What it Takes" are omitted. My brother of metal in Germany picked up this disc for me. He said he found it for "really cheap." In the U.S., if you could even find this disc, it would sell for a minimum of $25 at a cd show and probably more than that on eBay being that it is an original 'silver' disc, as opposed to a cdr copy. Aerosmith-Bruxelles 1993 (Live Storm/LSCD 51516) 1. "Love In An Elevator"
(6:00) An excellent (A+) show recorded in Bruxelles, Belgium during the "Get A Grip" tour. This particular show was broadcast worldwide. The sound quality is excellent throughout up until "Eat the Rich" where the quality drops a bit for some strange reason. I have read that these songs are from a different concert. I saw on another Aero-page that tracks 11-12 were recorded at Biloxi, MS, USA on July 15, 1993. Track 13, I suppose, is of unknown origin. Anyhow, this disc has been mass produced and is was made in Italy. Aerosmith - Live in Brussels 1993 (Arriba/ARR 94.058) 1. "Eat The Rich"
(6:01) Smokin' performance, excellent sound quality (A+) and a great set list. "Brussels 1993" is yet another excellent Aerosmith disc. I think this is now the third version of the '93 The Forest National Theatre, Bruxelles, Belguim show that I own. However each are on a different record label, each have a different name, completely different cover art, and each contain slightly different set lists. "Eat the Rich" sounds slightly different, and certainly has a better sound quality, than the Live Storm version listed above. Aerosmith - Live World (Amcos/AKD-2) 1. "Janie's Got A
Gun" (5:19) This CD and show is a complete mystery to me. "Live World" is a factory pressed, "silver" CD and features what has to be either a radio broadcast or possibly a soundboard recording. Unfortunately no information is given about the recording at all. I also wasn't able to find any information on-line about this CD at all. None of the various Aerosmith bootleg sites even have it listed. Even the title of this release is confusing. The front cover says it's called "Livin' on the Edge" but the side says "Live World". There is a more well known bootleg called "Livin' on the Edge", and this isn't that recording. The song names are given in both English and some sort of Oriental writing. As well, one of the two spines has the title written in oriental letters. However, the CD itself says "Printed in Australia 1994". As seems to be the case with bootlegs, the packaging is brilliant featuring a live photo of a festival crowd in front of a stage that features some other band, other than Aerosmith. The front cover features an expensive five color printing, including a metallic Pantone ink. Unfortunately there are no liner notes printed on the inside of the insert. Regardless of the origins of this CD, the songs here are excellent. I have to believe that the songs are taken from various shows, only because I've not seen Aerosmith perform a set list like this ever. This CD contains such rarely played songs as "No Surprise" and "Lightning Strikes" as well as the more common hits like "Janie's Got A Gun", "Cryin'" and "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)". Also, the sound quality from song to song changes. The fist noticeable jump in sound quality is from "Dream On" to "Kings and Queens". From that point on the quality of the recording jumps from song to song. At the same time, the CD is tracked in such a way that it sounds like one continuous concert with no empty gaps between songs. The version of "Train Kept A Rollin'" included here is very cool. It has to be the only version I have ever heard that features a saxophone. Aerosmith-In Orbit (CDR Bootleg) 1. "Love In The Elevator" Excellent recording taken from the FM radio broadcast from Mansfield on August 27th, 1993. (Also released as "Live Fever" but without "Red House.) Track listing based on FM broadcast tracks. Stevie Ray Vaughan blues tribute given since it was exactly 3 years since his death in a helicopter crash on the way to Chicago, IL. "Boogie Man/ Shut Up And Dance" is listed on the insert as "Suaddap and dance." Not sure if this one was ever mass produced but the record company listed is The Last Bootleg Records (LBR 011). Notice the blatent error on the cover art as well with the I in the logo missing. Aerosmith
- Toxik Graffiti (bootleg) 1. "Toys In the Attic"
(4:35) What I have here is a bootleg of a bootleg. Originally released on Kiss The Stone Records (KTS 222), my particular copy was taken directly from that version and pressed on a silver CD with color lazer printout copies of the inserts. As with the original, Hangman Jury os listed as Love Comes Tumbling Down on the tray card. Superb sound quality throughout. I'm not completly sure if the information for tracks 1-6 because at the end of "Walk this Way" Steven says "Thank you Boston." Aerosmith - Struttin' My Stuff (KTS/CDR bootleg)
Decent show from the "Get A Grip" tour. Focuses very heavily on the more recent tracks, forsaking anything from the classic 70's, save for the usuals; "Sweet Emotion", "Walk this Way", "Mama King" and "Dream On." Sound quality isn't bad but frankly the Woodstock or Donnington shows are better in both sound quality and in track listing. Aerosmith - Donnington 1994 (CDR Bootleg)
Of the "Get A Grip"
era shows, this is perhaps on of the best along side the Woodstock show. Of
course the set list focuses heavily on "Get A Grip" songs, but there
are several classics here as well. "Bright Light Fright" and "Kings
& Queens" are two of the biggest surprises, although from the performance
of "Kings & Queens", it sounds like it might have been a surprise
to the band as well. Sound quality here is very good (A) and is just slightly
under the sound quality of an official release. I have actually heard official
live releases that sound worse than this bootleg. This disc has been mass produced
b "Golden Stone". Until I find a copy I have this nicely made CDR
complete with all the color inserts. Aerosmith-Woodstock 1994 (WOOD 99403/04)
This is a fabulous disc. Not only is the soundboard recording excellent (A+) but the performance is tight and the entire show is included. Every song is outstanding and full of energy, despite the fact that Aerosmith took the stage just before midnight. The bonus tracks are excellent as well. The unplugged songs are as entertaining as the electric songs ever were. Loads of charisma! Aerosmith rule and I can't say enough good things about this disc. Even the pro-printed cover and inserts are stellar. A minor flaw in the track listing. "Hangman's Jury" is listed as "Love Comes Tumbling." Otherwise a near perfect cd. Aerosmith-USA 1994 (Arriba/ARR94.083/Germany) 1. "Eat the Rich"
(4:52) Excellent quality FM broadcast of the Woodstock concert. Basically the same concert as "Woodstock 1994" with a different cover and possibly better mastering. The cover art on this disc is very cool. It's one of those 3-D pieces that you have to stare at until your vision gets blurry and eventually the image pops in. The hidden message is "Woodstock 94" Excellent German import. Couldn't ask for a nicer Christmas present. "Stop Messin' Around" is listed as "Stop Messin'". Aerosmith-VOL.3 (LSD/152.127/Germany) 1. "Cryin'" (5:07) German import and an excellent compilation of stereo live tracks. Unfortunately the liner notes only say "Recorded Live in the USA 1993/1994, so I have no idea where these tracks were recorded, other than the three acoustic tracks which are from MTV Unplugged recorded at Ed Sullivan Studio¹s, August 11, 1990. As on several other bootlegs, "Hangman's Jury" is listed "Love Comes Tumbling Down." Also the liner notes incorrectly list the writers of the songs. They have the three covers "Big Ten Inch Record," "'Train Kept A Rollin'"² and "Walkin' The Dog" listed as being written by Aerosmith, yet they have two originals "Rag Doll" and "Fever" written by someone else. Aerosmith - House of Fire (bootleg)
This is a killer show, featuring mostly older material from an FM broadcast. This infamous Aerosmith concert was the last at the end of their 18 month "Get A Grip" tour. Aerosmith are always at their best when they are live and can jam. I use to own a ton of Aero-bootleg tapes, and the best shows were the ones that featured the extended guitar jams. This one features a phenomenal rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "Rattlesnake Shake," which was also the name of a very popular vinyl bootleg by Aerosmith in the 70's. Also features a never before recorded Christmas version of "Stop Messin' Around" with Joe Perry singing lead vocals. This is a great set and worth every penny of the $15 I paid for it. Well now I have two different versions of this show, each with a slightly different track listing. One show has no breaks in between songs, while the other does. However, the one without the breaks has some static in the recording, whereas the one with the breaks is clean. Aerosmith - Final Night at Mama Kin's (cdr)
Third copy is a charm. At least I finally have the entire show without any defects, static, or cut songs. Gotta love that. As stated in the above review, 90% of this material is taken from Aerosmith's 70's days, so this show is one of my favorites. The 250 people that were lucky enough to get tickets to this Mama Kin gig were treated to one heck of a show. Not only do they do a smokin' rendition of Peter Green's "Rattlesnake Shake" but they also do such forgotten jems as "Let the Music Do the Talking" and "Milk Cow Blues." Gotta love that! Great show, great FM broadcast, great bootleg!
"Mankato Live" is a mass produced cd that sports very good audience recorded sound (A/A-) and excellent full color inserts. AMG has the date for this show listed as November 7, 1998 although no information is actually given on the disc or inserts. Of course, AMG also has this disc listed as a two disc set, when in reality it's only a single disc. Killer performance by the Aeroboys. Great rendition of "Stop Messin' Around" with Joe Perry singing and Mr. Tyler rocking the harp. One annoyance is that "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)" features about three full minutes of crowd noise at the end of the song. Otherwise a great disc and a worthwhile addition to my Aerosmith collection. "Heartbreaker" is a Led Zeppelin cover. Aerosmith - Dream On (Venus Music/VM 002) 1994 1. "Toys In the Attic"
(4:34) This CD is a bit of a mystery to me. I've found no information about it at all on-line. Not even the very informative RockThisWay.de seems to have any information on this CD. From what I can gather "Dream On" (Venus Music/VM 002) is yet another CD containing the MTV Unplugged 1990 session together with the Walden Woods Benefit concert broadcast, not unlike "Toxic Graffiti". However, this CD includes "Amazing" which is not on the "Toxic Graffiti" CD. Best as I can tell, this song is just an album version of the song with some crowd noise added to give it the live feel. "Hangman Jury" is listed as "Love Comes Tumbling Down" on the CD inserts. The entire CD has excellent stereo sound. All the material here is excellent. The band sounds fantastic and Steven's voice sounds as good, if not better, than it ever has. Aerosmith-New Years Eve Party 1999 (LBM)
This two disc set was a bit of a disappointment for me as I was led to believe it was a "real" cd, as opposed to a cdr with a color printout cover. Unfortunately, that is what it is. If a mass produced cd exists of this show, I have yet to see one. The music on the other hand is outstanding. The sound quality is excellent (A+) being taken directly from the soundboard from this special holiday concert. I've heard officially released albums that don't sound this good. The show is pretty much uninterrupted with the exception of some of the crowd noise being cut from between "Dream On" and "Janie's Got A Gun." "Train Kept A Rollin'" is also interrupted but only because the band stopped for the New Year countdown. Tyler offers up a "new age prayer" to the "one god of all religions" during the festivities with a Japanese interpreter echoing his words. Nice to hear "Let the Music Do the Talking." I can't remember them performing this song on the "Nine Lives" tour, but I am sure glad they have resurrected this great song. (Wouldn't mind hearing "Darkness" again in concert as well.) There are two stellar medleys on this disc as well, Sweet Emotion with Led Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker" and "Walk this Way" with James Brown's "Mother Popcorn." "Mother Popcorn" is not listed on the track listing. Of course what Aerosmith New Years Eve concert would be complete without Tyler and the crowd singing "Happy Birthday" to Tom Hamilton. This was Tom Hamilton's 48th birthday. As usual with bootlegs, there is usually something wrong with the track listing and "New Years Eve 1999" is no exception. Disc two/track one, which is suppose to only be "Mother Popcorn/Walk This Way," also has the next two songs tacked onto the same track. Track two and three are correctly listed but are repeats of the songs that were incorrectly tacked onto track one. Also "Full Circle" is incorrectly listed as "Time" on the back cover. Also, the cover has the show listed at Yokohama Arena, but was actually performed at the Osaka Dome in Osaka, Japan. Of course, had the bootlegger listened to the disc, he would have heard this as Tyler echoes the words "Osaka" repeatedly, several times throughout the show. Aerosmith-Feels Like Home/Whats That Smell (CDR) 2 discs
From the Just Push Play Tour, this two disc set is a good listen, especially after your ears get use to the less than perfect sound quality. Everything sounds like it might have been recorded with a condenser mic. Cool selection of tunes from past and present. I still keep hoping that Aerosmith will ressurect some classics from "Rocks" and "Night in the Ruts." For now, I shall rejoice in the fact that Aerosmith are still rockin' some three decades later. Pretty much includes the entire show, although for some reason the end of "Dream On" is cut off. Thought it was funny that Steven said, "ok, just one more, one more" after "Dream On" like it was the end of thes how and yet they went on to play some eleven songs more. Aerosmith-Just Shake Live (cdr bootleg)
Great soundboard recording from the "Just Push Play" tour! An excellent performance as well; Aerosmith were tight on this night. SAP's Sapphire conference was held at Orange County Convention Center from June 12th through the 15th and scheduled the Aerosmith concert to happen on June 14th. About 7,000 people attended the concert. This was Aerosmith's first ever private corporate show, and a very expensive one: it costed Sapphire Technologies $1,000,000! I am not sure, but I am assuming by the band's past set list that this single disc bootleg does not contain the entire show, but does contain some choice selections. Good to see that Aerosmith are resurrecting classics like "Rats in the Cellar" and "Uncle Salty," even though "Uncle Salty" is only partially played. This track sounds like it may have just been an off-the-cuff performance. Excellent extended version of "Rats in the Cellar." Aerosmith - Live Tonight! (CDR bootleg)
Awesome show with an outstanding set list from the "Just Push Play Tour". Includes the entire show, but unfortunately doesn't have the best sound quality. Overall, the sound isn't terrible, but a bit muddy. Will have to keep an eye out for a better sounding show from this tour. Aerosmith - Live U.S.A.-
Vol. 1 (CDR/
Imtrat : imm 40.90175) 1. "Young Lust"
(4:27) I own original copies of Vol. 2 & 3. I'm still searching for an original copy of vol. 1. Thankfully another Aerosmith collector hooked me up with a CDR copy, and yet another hooked me up with the cover art. So until that time in which I find an original, this CDR fills a gap in my collection. Despite being titled "Live U.S.A.", the music on this CD was actually recorded live at Monsters of Rock Festival, Castle Donnington, England, August 18, 1990. This show was also released as "Train Kept A-Rolling" (Plute PLR CD 9126) and a Japanese bootleg called "Aerosmith Live: Unlicesned - Vol. 2" (AMCOS/SW108) but with the additional track "Walk this Way". Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) guests with band on "Train Kept A Rollin'" and "Walk This Way"., which makes it all the more puzzling why Imtrat decided to omit the song. Aerosmith's set was shorter than normal as they were co-headliners with Whitesnake, who performed after Aerosmith. From all the reviews I have read of this disc, the sound is suppose to be superb. The recording itself is an Radio 1 FM stereo broadcast. However, my CDR copy, at least, seems to have several flaws and digital glitches in the recording. Not sure if this is just in my copy or in all the copies. Aerosmith-Live U.S.A. Vol. 2 (Imtrat : imm 40.90176) 1. "Heart's Done Time"
(4:45) Excellent collection of live Aerosmith songs with superb stereo sound quality. The cover says "Recorded Live in U.S.A." but is actually recorded at various locations including Switzerland 1990 ("Rock This Way"), Hampton 1987 ("Rag Dolls"or "Virginia Connection"), England 1990 ("Train Kept A Rolling"). Cover lists "Heart's Done Time" as "My Girl" and "One Way Street" as "My Baby," the same mistake as on the Rock This Way CD. Editing between songs is professionally done as well. Overall, a great bootleg. Excellent versions of "Draw the Line". Nice to hear "Lightning Strikes" as well. I still think this is one of the band's finest tracks, even if Joe Perry didn't write it. The credits for this song are incorrect on the liner notes. (Total time: 57:43) Aerosmith-Live U.S.A. Vol. 3 (Imtrat : imm 40.90177) 1. "Back In The Saddle"
(3:56) Part 3 of "Live In The U.S.A" series. This bootleg is a compilation of tracks from various shows as well. Tracks 8-13 are most likely from the My Father's Place, New York, July 2, 1974 show, but has a better sound quality than the either "My Fathers Place" or "Live Bootleg Vol.2", both of which I also own. Hmmmm, it is a mystery. The sound quality, like Vol. 2, is excellent all the way through, but tracks 1-7 are in stereo while tracks 8-13 are mono. Aerosmith-Singles & Soundtracks (cdr compilation) 1. "Won't Let You
Down" (3:40) I already possess a majority of these songs on the various singles and soundtracks that are pictured on the cd cover. However, it's really nice to have all these songs on one cd. There is actually another compilation similar to this one floating around called "Demos and Live Rarities" that contains 17 different songs than this collection. In any case, "Won't Let You Down" is the bonus track from the Japanese pressing of "Just Push Play." "Angel's Eyes" is from the Charlie's Angels Soundtrack. "What Kind of Love are You On" and "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" are both from the Armageddon soundtrack. "Come Together" is a song recorded by the evil Future Villan Band from the Sgt. Pepper Soundtrack. "Living On The Edge" (demo) is a b-side from the "Get A Grip" pre-release EP as are "Don't Stop" and "Can't Stop Messin'". I should mention that this demo version is very different than the final version that appeared on "Get A Grip." "Fall Together" is from the "Falling in Love (is Hard on the Knees)" pre-release single for "Nine Lives." All three of these "unreleased" tracks are excellent heavy rockers. "Dueces Are Wild" is from the Beavis and Butthead Experience soundtrack. "Sweet Emotion" is the 1991 remix from the promotional video that was released. "Rockin Pheumonia" is from the "Less than Zero" soundtrack, but also appears on the Box of Fire bonus disc, as do "Subway," "Circle Jerk," Both these tracks are instrumental studio jams that were recorded during the "Draw the Line" sessions. Apparently while Steve & Joe were away in la la land somewhere the other three members of the band spent time in the studio jamming. "Dream On" (MTV Anniversary) appears on this bonus disc as well but was first releasd on the Last Action Hero soundtrack. This track was recorded with Michael Kamen and his orchestra. "Helter Skelter," "Big Ten Inch Record" and "Last Child" are all taken from either the Pandora's Box set or the "Big 10" Sampler" as pictured on the cover. The live version of "Big Ten Inch" is taken from the Mama Kin Music Hall show on December 19, 1994 and also appears on the Australian version of "Greatest Hits." Also must mention that despite the fact that both the "Pink" singles and the "Amazing" single are pictured on the cover, nothing from any of these singles appear on this cd. Aerosmith-Demos & Live Rarities (cdr bootleg compilation) 1. "Sedona Sunrise"
[demo] (4:12) Well looky here, the companion
disc to the "Singles & Soundtracks" disc. This one has more rare
material and less stuff taken from singles, although some of this stuff was
released before. Several of the remix songs, including "Pink," "Taste
Of India" (Miami maddness mix), and "Line Up" (Butcher bros.
mix) are taken from varous singles. "Deuces Are Wild" I don't even
think is Aerosmith playing on, but rather songwriter Jim Vallance with Steven
Tyler on vocals and Joe or Brad doing the lead. This is a direct quote sent
to me from Jim: Wanted:
